oh odyssey

I grew up listening to Adventures in Odyssey. Yeah, I was one of those kids. Any kind of road trip meant listening to Odyssey tapes for hours and hours and hours. Vacation in my family meant camping, and camping meant listening to Odyssey tapes while falling asleep in my orange, hand-me-down sleeping bag in the tent trailer, while listening to episodes on my Mom's tape player that was made sometime in the 80s. I even have a few favorite episodes. My childhood was definitely impacted by Odyssey.

Well, I know I'm 21 and maybe that's too old to still be listening to Odyssey. But, I found episodes online and couldn't resist. I just finished listening to the last episode that the real Whit was in, back in the 90s. I remember listening to this episode as a kid and feeling like a part of my childhood was over or something. Well, I may be too old for this, but I feel like a part of me has died all over again.

This morning I soaked it all up in Spiritual Formation, and was encouraged and challenged by what Foster's book is showing me. Work was really fun, joking around and figuring out how to tutor better. Eating at the cheesecake factory was fun tonight, too.

But right now, I'm reliving part of my childhood which feels like it was just yesterday...
